Happy Bloody Friday The 13th!

Well today is Friday The 13th, which occurs from time to time and reminds us that superstition is alive and well in the 21st century. Friday the 13th is considered bad luck around the world, but I have always been fond of it, especially as a kid watching the Friday The 13th marathons they would play on TV. So in reminiscing, here is a look back on one of the horror icons of this particular date, Jason Voorhees, of Friday The 13th!

Friday The 13th (1980)

A group of eager (and horny) teenagers decide to reopen Camp Crystal Lake, which 20 years earlier was closed after the shocking and mysterious murders of two amorous camp counselors. You can take it from there, as the teens get picked off one by one, during a dark and stormy night.

Friday The 13th Part II (1981)

Jason Voorhees, son of Mrs.Voorhees comes alive to avenge his mother's death (who killed to avenge Jason's death). Jason kills everybody except one girl - & you do get to see his hideous face.

Friday The 13th Part III in 3D (1982)

Yet another batch of hormonally advanced teens go camping, this time to Higgin's Haven, across the lake from Camp Crystal Lake where they start dying one by one. Originally presented in 3-D, which explains the never-ending slew of objects (knives, pitchforks, yo-yos, cats, eyeballs, etc.) that are repeatedly thrust in the viewer's general direction. Jason gets his trademark hockey mask in this third installment.

Friday The 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter (1984)

Thought to be killed by the sole survivor of the last Crystal Lake Massacre, Jason kills all the way back to the lake to once again murder its inhabitants. This time, has Jason met his final match with a little boy named Tommy.

Friday The 13th Part V: The New Beginning (1985)

Tommy, the young boy who finally killed hockey-masked murderer Jason Voorhees in Part V, has grown up and is now spending time in a home for the mentally fragile. Not long after Tommy checks in though, someone starts killing the patients one-by-one. Has Tommy picked up where the legendary serial killer left off or has Jason come back from beyond the grave to kill again?

Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986)
As a child, Tommy Jarvis did what many others died trying to do, he killed Jason Vorhees, the

mass murderer who terrorized the residents of Crystal lake. But now, years later, Tommy is tormented by the fear that maybe Jason isn't really dead. So, Tommy and a friend go to the cemetery to dig up Jason's grave. Unfortunately for Tommy, (and very unfortunately for his friend), instead of finding a rotting corpse, they discover a well rested Jason who comes back from the dead for another bloody rampage.

Friday The 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988)

Ever since homicidal maniac Jason Voorhees got trapped in chains at the bottom of Crystal Lake, the nearby summer camp has operated without a hitch... without a murder. But one of this season's happy campers has brought along a deadly secret. Tina Shepherd can see the future and levitate objects. Her doctor knows just how dangerous telekinesis can be, but he's out to exploit her, not help her. And now it's too late. Tina has accidentally unchained Jason from his watery grave--and the bloodbath is underway. Tina's special powers are her only hope for survival. Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)

Start spreadin' the news... The Big Apple's in big trouble, as indestructible psycho-fiend Jason Voorhees hits the road to New York City--and paints the town "red." After a shocking return from beyond the grave, the diabolical Jason ships out aboard a teen-filled high school graduation cruise bound for New York, which he soon transforms into the ultimate voyage of the damned. Then one of his terrified victims escapes into the nightmarish maze of Manhattan's subways and sewers, only to confront Jason one final time.

Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (aka Part IX) 1993

Killer Jason Voorhees is blown to smithereens in the opening sequence, but don't fret kiddies. Jason's evil spirit finds its way into a series of host bodies, thus continuing the carnage at Crystal Lake. Jason confronts a long-lost sister at the lake, while the usual assortment of naked teens are dispatched. This one tries to vary the formula a bit but ends up with a story line every bit as nonsensical as those that came before. The final sequence tries to put Jason away for keeps and calls upon the demons of hell for support (aka Freddy Kreuger).
Freddy vs. Jason (2003)

Four years after being killed by his daughter, Freddy Krueger rests in Hell. He depends on the dreams of those in Springwood to fuel his existence. But when the town covers up his existence in an attempt to make people forget, Freddy is left powerless. In a last ditch effort he springs Jason Voorhees from his own personal Hell and sends him to Elm Street, determined to strike fear in the hearts of Springwood teens. But when Jason won't stop killing Freddy's "children," Krueger decides it's time to take Voorhees out.

Jason X (2004)

Jason is cryogenically suspended along with the comely scientist who warned of his invincibility; by the time a sexy spaceship crew revives them in the year 2455, "Earth 2" has replaced the now-uninhabitable Earth, and Jason continues his reign of terror with his trusty machete. Eventually he battles a sexy android, gets a cybernetic facelift, and meets his fate back at Crystal Lake, where the whole thing started.

Madonna | Brother Tells All In New Book

Hell Yea-Madonna’s younger brother is publishing a book filled with the pop star’s secrets. Publisher Simon & Schuster will release Christopher Ciccone’s Madonna tell-all, Life With My Sister Madonna, on July 15th.
“Ciccone’s extraordinary memoir is based on his life and 47 years of growing up with and working with his sister—the most famous woman in the world,” the company said in a press release on Wednesday.Ciccone, 47, has worked often with his older sister, designing and directing her 'Girlie Show Tour' in 1993 and serving as artistic director of her 1991 documentary, Madonna: Truth or Dare. But according to Madonna's spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, they are no longer close. Madonna, who turns 50 this summer, is among the most popular recording artists in history, with such hits as 'Like a Virgin', 'Material Girl' and 'Vogue'. Rosenberg had no initial comment on the book, but told the AP that "Madonna has not cooperated with any biography about herself".

Dirt No More | FX Series Cancelled

And good riddance...'Dirt' was a show that had so much potential but just never hit the mark. Honestly, the show was just BAD (not in a good way-it sucked)! I love me some Courtney Cox and I think she plays one mean bitch, but the scripts were super-lame and her mentally fucked up friend/lackey annoyed the hell out of me. Courtney made the announcement last Sunday during the “A Time for Heroes” Celebrity Carnival benefiting the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
When asked for the reason for the FX decision, Cox stated: “It just got canceled.”
I would love to see Courtney's Lucy Spiller character pitted against Heather Locklear's Amanda Woodward character. Now that is a show I would watch!

T.R. Knight Helps Kick Off National Gay Pride Month

Hotties T.R. Knight and boyfriend, Mark Cornelsen, attended a celebration of the California Supreme Court decision and a dusk “commitment to protect our rights” ceremony last night in West Hollywood.
The 35-year-old Grey’s Anatomy star, who was forced to come out of the closet in October 2006 after some on-set drama on the hit ABC medical drama, and his 19-year-old beau joined approximately 50 other couples who took part in the ceremony presided by West Hollywood Mayor Jeffrey Prang to mark the start of National Gay Pride Month.
The entire event was hosted by the Matthew Shepard Foundation.

Hilary Clinton Calls Curtains

Senator Hillary Clinton thanked supporters in an e-mail Thursday and pledged to help Sen. Barack Obama capture the White House after eight years of Republican control.
Clinton plans to thank supporters in person at a Washington D.C. event Saturday, her campaign said, but she got a head start in an e-mail the campaign sent early Thursday.
"I have said throughout the campaign that I would strongly support Senator Obama if he were the Democratic Party's nominee, and I intend to deliver on that promise," the message said.
"This has been a long and hard-fought campaign, but as I have always said, my differences with Senator Obama are small compared to the differences we have with Senator McCain and the Republicans."
Clinton plans to suspend her campaign within days, her campaign said. By suspending instead of dropping out altogether, Clinton would technically remain a candidate, entitled to keep statewide pledged delegates and district-level delegates.
Yet Democrats nationwide have coalesced around Obama since he received enough delegates to become the presumptive nominee on Tuesday evening.
On Thursday and Friday, top Democrats from Clinton's home state of New York plan to endorse the Illinois senator, congressional staffers and Obama campaign insiders told CNN.
The New York Democratic congressional delegation plans to embrace Obama's candidacy Thursday on the steps of the U.S. Capitol, the sources said.
And on Friday, Democratic leaders in New York, including Gov. David A. Paterson, state legislators and city council members, plan to endorse Obama at a 1 p.m. news conference at New York's City Hall, the sources said.
Obama earned enough delegates Tuesday to clinch the nomination, but Clinton did not concede defeat that night. Instead, she asked supporters to visit her Web site and give her advice on how to proceed.
Since then, Clinton supporters have stepped up efforts to get her the vice-presidential slot.

Sex Does Sell! The Ladies Take The #1 Spot

Despite making a massive $27M on Friday night, the Sex & The City movie ended up with about $56M when all of the weekend estimates were calculated. Coming in at #1, it actually beat out that old fart,Indiana Jones (#2 with $46M) and the horror movie, The Strangers (#3 with $20M). I'm sure the numbers will drastically die down in subsequent weeks, but the DVD release should boost sales even higher. And YES, they are already talking a sequel!!!
