Rumor Has It | David Duchovny Enters Rehab For Sex Addiction

This is just fucking funny, but X-Files actor David Duchovny has recently entered a rehab center for an addiction to sex! According to People magazine, David’s attorney, Stanton ‘Larry’ Stein confirmed that his client has seeked help and gave David's statement:

“I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction. I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family.”

David, 48, is married to actress Tea Leoni, 42, and the couple have two children together, daughter Madelaine West, 9, and son Kyd, 6. The couple met and married back in 1997.

I know the picture is a little grainy, but I can't help notice that Shannen's face looks somewhat "different". Is she trying to look Asian now? The WB is really pushing the promotion of it's new series 90210, with ad campaigns stating "old friends, new faces"? They weren't kidding about that!

Desperate Housewives | Season 5 Promo Cast Photos

Rumor Has It | Cher Is First Choice For Catwoman

Very interesting rumor concerning"Batman 3" and a possible villain to Batman: Cher as Catwoman!? I have to say if executed right , this could be brilliant casting. In fact the more I think about it, the more I really dig the notion of an aging femme fatale.

According to Aceshowbiz.com....Angelina Jolie may get a competition for the Catwoman role in "Batman 3" as Cher is reported to be in negotiations for the part. Though the "Wanted" star has been linked to the feline villain for quite sometime now, latest report from British's Telegraph indicates that director Christopher Nolan prefers to give the part to the pop singer/actress instead. According to the publication, the 62-year-old Cher has become Nolan's prime choice for the character whose alter ego is known as Selina Kyle. "Cher is Nolan's first choice to play Catwoman. He wants Cher to portray her like a vamp in her twilight years," claimed a studio executive. "The new Catwoman will be the absolute opposite of Michelle Pfeiffer and Halle Berry's purring creations."

Though Cher started off her stardom through music business, she is also praised for her acting performances earning her an Academy Award for 1987 "Moonstruck". Her latest feature film credits include 1999 "Tea With Mussolini" in which she played Elsa Morganthal Strauss-Armistan and 2003 "Stuck on You" where she appears as herself. "Batman 3", the sequel to the record-breaking "The Dark Knight", is said to be temporarily entitled "The Caped Crusade". The filming is scheduled to begin in Vancouver early 2009 and may get Johnny Depp as The Riddler.

Mirrors | Movie Posters (August 15th 2008)

So at first I thought...Wow the studios have actually released a horror movie with an original concept (not a sequel, a remake, or reworked/ retooled flick), but a fresh new piece of terror. But to my dismay, I have uncovered the real horror about Mirrors-its yet another Asian remake (from the 2003 South Korean horror film, Into The Mirror). Come on fuckers-does nobody have any brain cells left to push their imagination and creativity?? Hence Mirrors has now fallen into the "rental" category so that I can at least fast forward to watching Amy Smart rip her jaw apart!

Madonna | Keeping Up With The Jolies & Pitts

According to The Sun:
"This is the orphan whom Malawian officials say pop goddess Madonna is "on the very cusp" of adopting.
Madge originally scrapped her year-long battle for three-year-old Mercy James just four months ago as her marriage to British film director Guy Ritchie, 39, hit the rocks.
But officials yesterday confirmed the star has resumed her adoption bid -- which pals say proves their marriage is "back on track".
Malawian adoption minister Penstone Kilembe said: "Madonna's representatives have been visiting the girl. The adoption is now advanced -- all the government is waiting for is Madonna to forward the petition of adoption formalities.
"Then Mercy will be able to leave the country for a new life."
Pals of Madonna, who turns 50 on Saturday, say she is keen to have a sister for her adopted Malawian son David Banda, three -- and feels her marriage is again strong enough to cope.
A close family friend revealed: "The adoption process in Malawi is so long and stressful that all the legal wrangling put a huge strain on their marriage.
"They dropped proceedings to pour all their energies into each other. But Madonna now feels they are stable enough to press ahead with the adoption again."
The friend said Madge "fell in love" with Mercy when they met at her orphanage last year.
However, the girl's gran Lucy Chekechiwa, 60, said she has been asked repeatedly by officials if Mercy could be adopted by an "unidentified foreign family" -- but was firmly against it.
Speaking from her village in Zomba District, Lucy said: "We know that it is Mercy who Madonna really wants. We heard it is because my granddaughter is such a beautiful, happy child.
"Twice I have told the adoption people that I do not want Mercy to go outside the country.
"But they keep on at us. Now they say that Mercy will be leaving us, but can return at age 18. Yet I might not be alive then."
The Sun revealed how Madge, who also has daughter Lourdes, 11, and son Rocco, eight, was given permission to adopt Mercy last August -- but had to stop when the girl's uncle John Nglanade, 36, blocked the application".

Madonna plans on naming her new daughter "Rudy".

Horror Book Review | The Keeper by Sarah Langan (2006)

Synopsis: Some believe Bedford, Maine, is cursed. Its bloody past, endless rain, and the decay of its downtown portend a hopeless future. With the death of its paper mill, Bedford's unemployed residents soon find themselves with far too much time to dwell on thoughts of Susan Marley. Once the local beauty, she's now the local whore. Silently prowling the muddy streets, she watches eerily from the shadows, waiting for . . . something. And haunting the sleep of everyone in town with monstrous visions of violence and horror.
Those who are able will leave Bedford before the darkness fully ascends. But those who are trapped here—from Susan Marley's long-suffering mother and younger sister to her guilt-ridden, alcoholic ex-lover to the destitute and faithless with nowhere else to go—will soon know the fullest and most terrible meaning of nightmare.
My Review:
This is Sarah Langan's first book and it's a creepy and gloomy combination of mystery, thriller and horror. Langan manages to weave such an oppressive atmosphere giving her setting an almost palpable sense of loss and foreboding. I found the writing to be exceptional. Langan manages to capture the small town gravity that keeps people there even though they have failed and know that they will continue to fail so long as they stay. Even the dark, depressing town becomes a character all its own, slowly sucking the life out of its inhabitants.

The novel has a slow, languorous pace for the first ¾ of it, but it kicks into high gear for the grand finale. As the novel gets darker and darker, you just feel the characters driven into the pits of depression and despair. Dead things start coming back to life, the old mill starts spewing its poison into the air and Susan Marley and the ghosts of Bedford encroach on its last remaining citizens. The beginning of the book deals mainly with the characters that live in town and their deep secrets, inner conflicts and relationships to Susan Marley. I felt the pace was appropriate throughout the book and didn’t have issue with it.
The descriptions of horror are very effective. People die in very grisly ways and the dark, bad things that slowly seep into Bedford are very disturbing (several scenes that are just plain unsettling). I would definitely recommend reading this book as I was extremely impressed with The Keeper. Hopefully this is the start of a very promising career for Langan!
Book Rate: 9/10

Sugababes | 'Girls' New Single

The quality is poor, but you get the idea. The upcoming Sugababes' 6th studio album has so far been described as having a "more funkier" sound by Orson's lead singer Jason Pebworth, who has been working with the group in the studio.
The lead single for the new album is to be titled "Girls" and is expected to be released around September 2008, with the album dropping sometime late 2008.

Jem | 'Down To Earth' Album Cover

Jem's sophmore album, Down To Earth, will hit September 2nd. The first single, It's Amazing, has already been showcased on the Sex & The City movie soundtrack.

Down To Earth Track Listing:
1. Down to Earth
2. Crazy
3. I Want You To...
4. It's Amazing

Brenda verses Kelly. The ultimate smack down!

Apparently the CW does not want Tori Spelling (Donna Martin) back as much as the other ladies, since they are not willing to pay her as much as they are paying Shannen Doherty and Jenni Garth. I think her weight is really the issue here. Spelling has now reportedly changed her mind about appearing in the new Beverly Hills 90210 spin-off show. But on the flip side, Melrose Place alum/hottie: Rob Estes has joined the party as the principal at West Beverly High School.

Madonna | Sticky & Sweet Tour FINAL Set List Discriptions

Intro/Candy Shop
The show opener, Candy Shop, has now a longer intro compared to the promo tour version. A musical intro a la Drowned World Tour, sounding very cinematic, like the opening titles of a blockbuster movie, starting with the 4 minutes' "tick tock" with bits and pieces of songs from Hard Candy (4 Minutes, Give It 2 Me, Beat Goes On) that we will be hearing later in the show fades into the "C-A-N-D-Y" intro from the promo tour.
Beat Goes On
A standard album version of the song beginning after the Pharrel rap at the end of Candy Shop. Pharrel and Kanye West are doing their thing on video as well.
Human Nature
Britney will appear on video while Madonna sings the song on stage with her guitar. The idea of the Mash Up with Gimme More has been scrapped but Britney's new signature phrase "It's Britney Bitch" is included once at the end of the song.
Vogue
Played on a new instrumental track based on her 2008 hit 4 Minutes, this version of Vogue also includes a music sample of Nelly Furtado/Timbaland's Give It To Me during the whole song. An amazing re-invention!
Video Interlude - Die Another Day
The first video interlude, a fast paced and speeded up version of the James Bond theme Die Another Day, features exclusive new footage of Madonna as a boxeur, from the brand new photoshoot by Tom Munro for the Tour Book.
Into The Groove
Into The Groove, that contains a small sample of Madonna's Jump, sees Madonna jumping rope and doing a little bit of pole dancing. The song is delivered using musical parts of the dance hit "Toop Toop" by Cassius.
Heartbeat
A nice album version of this great new song by Madonna and Pharrel.
BorderlineThe most vintage song in the show has been totally recreated and turned into a rocky/ska version. Great rock guitars for the most surprising re-invention!
She's Not Me
As almost all Hard Candy song this one too is presented in it's album version incarnation. At one time Madonna reportedly shouts the phrase "I Know I Can Do It Better" in a similar way she did with "Do you think I'm satisfied" in RIT's American Life.
Music
Known as the Fedde Le Grande mix, the Sticky & Sweet tour version of Music starts with a sample of Last Night A DeeJay Saved My Life by Indeep.
Video Interlude - Rain/Here Comes The Rain Again
The third video interludes mashes up bit's of Madonna's Rain with Eurythmics' Here Comes The Rain Again, using Eurythmics' music track.
Devil Wouldn't Recognize You
Originally supposed to play piano herself on this one, now Madonna appears on stage on top of it. The song is the album version.
Spanish Lesson
Album version here too but nicely extended near the end, with the use of Spanish tap dancing and a little hint to Mariachi music thrown in there as well.
Miles Away
The great ballad version with guitar we already saw at the promo tour.
La Isla Bonita/Lela Pala Tute
The Live Earth version of La Isla Bonita is being presented on the new tour. Mixed with Romani song Lele Pala Tute and some great fun on stage. Gogol Bordello will make some special appearances on some of the tour dates.
Doli Doli
It's a live interlude not sung by Madonna and it's a Romani/Gyspyy folk song
You Must Love Me
Madonna is back on stage to close the section with a fierce rendition of the Accademy Award winning song "You Must Love Me" by Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Tzigani/Gypsy violins and accordeon make of this song an unforgettable and emotional moment of the show.
Video Interlude - Get Stupid
Third interlude a la "Sorry" in "Confession Tour". It's about saving our planet and saving it NOW. It uses parts of various songs from Hard Candy. A vocoded "Who Is The Master and Who Is The Slave" (From Voices), "Get Stupid" (From Give It 2 Me), "The Time Is Now" and "You don't have the luxury of time" (from Beat Goes On) and the "Tick Tock" from "4 Minutes".
4 Minutes
A great version very similar to the promo tour.
Like A Prayer
The song, that replaces Impressive Instant is another Mash Up, delivered using musical parts of the 1992 dance hit by Felix "Don't You Want Me".
Ray Of Light
Very similar to the Confessions Tour version with Madonna playing her rock guitar!
Hung Up
The Rock Version you heard at the promo tour has been confirmed for this tour as well.
Give It To Me

Performed on a music track slightly different from the album version, but it's not one of the remixes. It has an extended ending on which fans are invited to shout: Give It 2 Me!

Horror Movie Review | Shutter (2008)

Synopsis:
Remake of the 2004 Thai horror flick. Now set in Tokyo, newlywed hubby Joshua Jackson has taken bride Rachael Taylor (Transformers) for an ill-advised honeymoon. They hit a woman standing in the middle of a spooky road, after which all sorts of ghosts seem to emerge from Jackson's camera (he's come to Japan for a fashion-photography gig). Can our plucky heroine, a fish out of water in a confusing city, find the answer to this haunted puzzle? Well, yes, but she won't like what she finds. The movie also gets into the phenomenon of "spirit photography," which suggests that the dearly departed make their presence known as white flashes in snapshots (real fucking scary-NOT).
My Review:
I found the 2008 remake of Shutter to be rather dull and not scary at all. I really think the whole appeal to the Asian ghost story is dead (sucked dry is more like it). I admit I really enjoyed The Ring (but not the sequel) and that is about it. I disliked The Grudge, One Missed Call, Pulse and The Eye and the rest I have been fortunate enough to forget. The only reason I rented this flick was because of Joshua Jackson, and not even he could save me from boredom. I really can't say this movie had any potential and I would not recommend it. Another negative about the movie was that it had that freaky Michael Jackson looking guy from Nip/Tuck in it.
Movie Rating: 2/5

Out With The Man! | Jesse Gets Evicted From BB10

FINALLY - Jesse, the arrogant & egotistical bodybuilder got the boot from the Big Brother 10 house last night! As much fun as it was to watch Jesse take his shirt off every 5 mins, the guy was a tool. At least we can enjoy these pictures without having to hear him talk about himself!

And.. last week, poor sweet Angie couldn't save herself and was promptly evicted from the house.

Horror Movie Review | Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008)

Synopsis:
Risking everything in search of the ultimate rush is fun when you know you can't die. Angus Sutherland taking up where brother Kiefer left off in the original cult favorite is the lead vampire in this modern reimagining of The Lost Boys. The seaside village of Luna Bay is rife with outcasts and plagued by an outbreak of missing persons. As the sun sets the Tribe rises: a group of adrenalin-fueled thrill-crazed vampires tears up the surf and the streets with nonstop action. But when a champion surfer (Tad Hilgenbrinck) and his sister (Autumn Reeser) move in dark secrets erupt into hot-blooded passion and full-blooded fear. Helping fight the forces of hell: Corey Feldman in his signature role of vampire hunter Edgar Frog. Once you join the Tribe there's no turning back.
My Review:
Simply put Lost Boys: The Tribe isn't as good as the original, which I think most people would assume going into the movie, but with that said Lost Boys 2 is actually a surprisingly fun and wicked ride. I didn't really expect much, but hoped for at least a fairly decent horror flick, but it actually turned out a lot better than I thought it would. Much like the 1987 original, Lost Boys: The Tribe is campy and a bit silly, but it does step up on the gore and nudity. I thought it presented well-done gore and closely mimicked atmospherics of the original (one does have to take into account that this is a direct-to-DVD movie, but with that said the production values were much better than most movies released in theaters-anyone remember I Am Legend?)

What I didn't like was Corey Feldman, who I think is an incredibly bad actor. I just kept finding myself wincing every time he was on screen delivering cheesy line after cheesy line. Gee-I wonder why this guy does not work more. I imagine the only reason he was in the movie is to tie it more to the original (and hence sell more units). Also the music was OK, nothing like the soundtrack to the first, but again you really can't compare the two movies!

What I really dug about the movie, was the last scene during the credits, where we have Corey Feldman hunting his best friend Cory Haim (also from the original) who has apparently now become a vampire. Great setup for a third possible movie, which I would rent (even if Corey Feldman is in it). Overall, Lost Boys: The Tribe is not the "Suck-Fest" most people have been shouting out, but a fun entertaining flick... a great summer B-Flick.
Movie Rating: 3.5/5

Quote Of The Week | Hush (1998)

Hush is the tale of a young heroine made miserable by a lover's eccentric relations. Gwyneth Paltrow plays Helen, a New Yorker who marries a handsome boyfriend (Jonathon Schaech) and--following a confidence-shattering encounter with Manhattan crime--moves to his family's thoroughbred ranch. There, the young man's dominating mother, Martha (Jessica Lange) ,goes to war with new bride's claim on mama's Oedipal turf. A stock thriller ensues, and while one has a sense of dj vu about the whole thing, the film is fun for its audacity, its underpinnings of dime-store psychology, and some gothic stereotypes.
There are actually a few great quotes from the movie, so here they are:
Quotes:
1.)
Martha Baring: "Get up! You think you're an alley cat, dropping its litter by the side of the road"?
2.)
Martha Baring: "I want this lying bitch out of my house".
Helen: "There's only room for one of those".
3.)
Alice Baring: "There's something I've always wanted to tell you. You smell like horseshit".
My Review: So I finally got around to watching this movie, some 10 years later, and although not a great movie it was not that bad. I thought Jessica Lange played Martha perfectly, allowing her psychotic side to simmer just below the surface. Campy and entertaining, my only two problems with the movie is first, the ending (nobody dies a tragic gruesome death-WTF? Jessica Lange's character does not die, Gwyneth's character does not die, not even the fucking baby dies. I'm sorry but you really need some type of death at the end of these movies) and secondly, throughout the movie there would be scenes where Gwyneth was obviously wearing some cheap-ass wig. One scene, she has beautiful and natural hair, the next some ratty wig. I'm thinking she had to go back and do re-shoots but must have already cut her hair short or something. Did the director really think that the audience was not going to notice? Well worth the watch, maybe I will catch it in another 10 years or possibly next Mother's Day. NO ONE LEAVES MARTHA!

Madonna | New York Magazine Cover Girl (August 11th 2008)

If only she looked this good....all the pics I see of Madonna, she has no makeup on, hair is stringy and nasty and her clothes are a mess. I would advise her to get a new stylist, but it's well-known how cheap she is, so she probably does not even have one. Despite these few flaws, we still love Madge (just stop looking like SHIT all the time)!

Not one of my favorite tracks from Hard Candy, she should have released "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You".

I've never really paid much attention to John Meyer (don't care for his music and I don't care for Jessica Simpson either-glad that's over!), but these shots of John leaving a workout last week in Los Angeles got me thinking-damn the boy cleans up nice!
