Rob Zombie's Halloween 2007 Soundtrack & Nan
With the movie drawing ever closer (how much fucking longer???), I rushed out Tuesday evening and snatched up a copy of the newly released soundtrack to Rob Zombie's Halloween 2007. Have to say it rocks. I was impressed with the remake of the title song and I dug the classic rock songs Rob selected. I can't wait to watch Michael cut those bitches up!!! Getting off track there.......... Anyway, I was really taken with the remake of that old creepy song "Mr. Sandman" by Nan Vernon. Who is this? Checked on Amazon and she put out an album waaay back in 1995. Unfortunately no song clips were provided but the reviews of her CD piqued my interest. Researching further, I found her or some freak's myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/69109850) and it has two of her songs that you could listen to and again I was impressed with her haunting vocals. Elvis Waits and a cover of Blue Moon (which is not on her CD). I need to get a copy of this CD!!!
Reasons to love Nan Vernon: it all connects
and check out the soundtrack.

Reasons to love Nan Vernon: it all connects
Nan covers Mr. Sandman which was in Halloween II and an episode of The Golden Girls (that Bea just cracks me up!)
Nan covers Blue Moon which was in an episode of Sex & The City (remember when Carrie brought over pizza to Mr. Big's and he told her he was moving to Napa, CA?)
So go see Rob Zombie's Halloween 2007 out August 31, 2007and check out the soundtrack.

And so we begin.....
First off I am an avid reader and plan to keep a blog on each of the books I read as a refresher for myself later on.
Currently I am reading THE HOUSE by Bentley Little. This is the first book I have read from this author. Although this is not in my top 10 of horror genre books, it does not suck. The book is split between five different people that encounter this nasty little bitch that wants to be free from The House. Because each chapter is devoted to the perspective of one of the five main characters, it can get a bit confusing in that I had a hard time recollecting what happened with a specific character 5 chapters back. Is it because the book just does not keep with me or has my drinking gotten the better of me?
