RIP | Golden Girl Estelle Getty Dies At 84

With much sadness, I have learned that Estelle Getty has passed away today at the golden age of 84. Getty was best known of her portrayal as Sophia Petrillo on the popular 1980s sitcom, The Golden Girls. In it, she played the wise-cracking old Sicilian mother of Dorothy Zbornak, who was the show's main protagonist, played by Bea Arthur. Getty was actually one year younger than Arthur. Getty was a an Emmy- and Golden Globe Award-winning actress and will be sorely missed. Thanks "Ma" for being a Friend!

The Q Guides | Guides For The Gays

OK-I admit I bought "The Q Guide to The Golden Girls" last year because YES-I love them! Just name one gay guy that doesn't. I know there must be one or two of you out there, but the Gays love The Golden Girls and would religiously watch them on Lifetime like they were crack addicts. I don't even think Lifetime plays episodes of The Golden Girls anymore?-but I own all the DVD's now, so who gives a fuck (When are they going to release a complete box set?).
Anyway, Amazon.com likes to send me alerts on new books based on past purchases, and a whole new world has opened up to me. Apparently the Q Guides are a whole freaking series (see below)!!!! The "Q Guide to The Golden Girls" was such a funny, well written and insightful look at the show, that I am looking forward to reading the other companions. Check them out-very entertaining!

Happy Friday | Betty White

Kristen Bell-Cosmopolitan Cover Girl (May 2008)

Kim Cattrall as Blanche Devereaux?

Ok-I thought Kim Cattrall was shooting scenes for Sex & The City: The Movie, not a Lifetime movie adaptation of The Golden Girls?

Thanks Kim, for being a friend

Traveled down the road and back again

Your heart is true your a pal and a confidant.

And if you threw a party

Invited everyone you ever knew

You would see the biggest gift would be from me

And the card attached would say thank you for being a friend

Betty White Joins Ugly Betty

Betty White has been cast to play Victoria Smith-Slater, none other than Wilhelmina's mother! This should be golden!
